Akiko Tsuji x Troentorp collaboration

Each pair of Troentorp clogs is free-hand sketched and hand-painted by Akiko in her signature style. Choose from Blue Delft Bunny, Tan/Brown Bunny, California Dreaming, and Custom Art.

1. Blue Delft Existential Bunny: The bunny motifs and gestures are based on self-reflection and living in the moment. The blue and white combination is a classic staple of European delft work. The project embraces the craft and artistry of superior leather goods.

2. Tan/Brown Bunny: The tan and the rich chocolate brown combination is a classic staple. The project embraces the craft and artistry of superior leather goods.

3. California Dreaming: Yearning for the beach and dreaming of sitting on a cloud. The contemplating bunnies are depicted with sky and nature scenes. The right is painted in a warm pink with “La vie en rose” (life in pink) tagline and the left is painted in an aqua (light blue-green) with “C’est si bon” (it’s so good) and “California”. This pair is painted on the white w/strap style.

4. Custom Art (includes portraits): One scene or one portrait per side based on your request will be sketched out. This stage takes about 2 weeks. Please choose your size from the Custom Art option, and send a message with a request including your choice of the base clogs (see the last pic) A. White w/o strap, B. White w/strap, C. Tan or D. Black (white paint). You can request, for example, your family members as people or animals doing what they like (hobbies, profession, etc.), or your pets, and list things such as at the beach, cafe, favorite food, activities, etc. You will see the sketches before they’re painted on the clogs.

Unless otherwise stated, each pair is flown in from the Troentorp Clogs in Sweden, the artwork is then sketched and painted on the shoes. The paint used is specifically designed for leather, and it will not peel, crack, or rub off (unless scratched or scraped! Please be gentle as you would with any other nice leather goods, and though the paint is waterproof, avoid getting the leather wet) while maintaining its flexibility. Please note that the outcome of the artwork may vary as each one is bespoke.

Sizing is European and 36 means US women’s size 6. The width is medium. If your feet are wider, please size up. Please allow approx. 3 weeks to ship as shipping from Sweden may take longer. No return or exchange on this item.

The bunny art is something that I love to draw - the world of a strange paradise, nostalgic, sweet, yet slightly aloof. Reachable and not reachable, like a dream.

I remember my first pair of Troentorp clogs, it was the red pair with die-cut leaf details. Everything about them was perfect - the shape, the color, the smooth wooden base, the small round top nails that pressed the leather along the edges... I had them for many years until the leather finally gave in and started to crumble. I hope the pairs of Troentorp clogs I paint will also see many suns and moons and be loved until one day, they return to earth.
